Have you ever wondered where your paid traffic comes from? The services that generate paid traffic do it through a few key methods that you need to know about. Spending money to get traffic and not knowing where it is coming from or how effective it is, can be your biggest waste of finances.

A great way to generate traffic for you is through search engine marketing like Google, Exact Seek, MSN or Yahoo and hundreds of smaller engines! These traffic generation sites buy keywords in bulk or many long-tail keywords and phrases and resell the traffic they generate from them. If they can do this at a profit, its a win-win for both them and the buyer. This is a difficult strategy only because the cost of keywords change frequently based on industry demand. Such keywords as loan, insurance, real estate and others are very expensive.
2.Looking At Traffic Exchange.
Using this method, these sites sell you access to their traffic exchange networks where individuals surf the Internet for accumulated credits. As they earn these credits by other viewing web sites like yours, your own ads/web sites are displayed across the network for others to view and then click on. If you are using this method, you most likely will experience a decrease in your expected performance simply because the same individuals as you are seeing your ad over and over, which will most likely reduce their desire to click on your ads.
3.Kick Starting Traffic Through List Marketing.
Traffic generation web sites also produce their traffic through email marketing and house lists and other lists that are produced with other methods. These techniques are usually leveraged through daily, weekly, and monthly email newsletters outside of spam. Less traffic is produced than the other two methods I mentioned. The list marketing option usually creates more a comprehensive traffic generation strategy.

This is one you have control over and can produce immediate results. However you must have the correct keywords and ads for the correct product or service you are promoting. So in my opinion the most educated answer to the question about paying for traffic, is it worth the expense? My answer is that as part of an overall traffic generation strategy, paying for traffic can be beneficial and productive if done right. It really comes down to how you use your paid traffic acquisition as part of your overall marketing strategy. You must consider the quality of the traffic generated and the costs associated with the traffic equals the final production in terms of sales.
Another major factor to consider is the quality of the traffic your receiving. The high point of most traffic acquisition strategies is to improve your sales, generate more leads, and/or produce conversions. If this is your objective, I would only recommend paying for traffic if you have a way to measure the traffic to your site.
The path which the traffic takes through your web site and whether or not that traffic actually converts is of importance. So, whether you consider a conversion to be the completion of a web page form or the actual purchase of your product. Your buying this traffic for one reason and one reason only - to create sales and conversion. You need to keep this in mind before you spend any money on any paid traffic.
Although you can find plenty of sites willing to give you traffic in exchange for a fixed fee, I personally prefer to sign up for my own traffic exchange, then purchase my own keywords, and manage my newsletters and email lists. By doing it myself, I have a better handle on where the traffic is coming from and ultimately the value and quality of the traffic. Although there are web sights out there that are offering all of the data stats with the account which is vital. You can do a Google search for these sights and you will find many offer a trail period to see what benefits they offer and how much information they will provide you.
